Ms. Amira Bahadur-Kutkut

Chaplain, Cardiff Metropolitan University

Biography: Ameira Bahadur-Kutkut is currently the Muslim chaplain for Cardiff Metropolitan
University. Born and raised in Cardiff, she is a scholar in Islamic theology and is also a Doctoral
researcher exploring the roles of women in Islam. Ameira has been involved in interfaith events for
over 10 years through a number of organisations. She is on the executive board of Dar ul-Isra Islamic
centre in Cardiff and runs a number of study circles teaching people about Islam. Ameira is a
qualified counsellor and has worked supporting people with mental health difficulties, running
support groups and raising general awareness of mental health within the Cardiff community. Ameira
is creative, enjoys writing poetry and the great outdoors -even better writing poetry surrounded by
woodland and greenery – and also enjoys web design.
