‘Policy and Practice: Reflections on religious visions of the social good’
Abstract: This paper aims to address and interrogate the specific context of interfaith reflection in
Wales, particularly in light of recent policy and political developments. In doing so, it argues for a
reappraisal of the nature of ‘interfaith’ as a useful way of categorising aspects of our communally
lived social realities. It argues instead for a rejection of the idea of chronologically discrete moments
of interaction and for viewing our interactions as occurring within a framework formed of multiple,
changeable, and pluriform cultural, religious, and political identities.
